Due to the light, it is possible to perceive different atmosphere in the same physical environment. Daylight contributes an element of fundamental relevance for the design of spaces and therefore it plays a significant role in the discussion of quality in architecture.
In architecture, light as in form of daylight, the generous use of both sunlight and skylight in the spaces is considered positive, adding spatial values to the architectural object.
The concept of perception is used to describe how we see and directly apprehend and understand spaces size, shape, depth and distance. It also addresses experiences such as the level of light and the level of colour as perceived qualities.
Evidence that daylight is desirable can be found in research as well as in observations of human behaviour. Daylight can also produce uncomfortable solar glare and very highluminance ,reflections on display screens, both of which interfere with good vision.
